BWINDI GORILLA SAFARI ITINERARY
Day 1: Kampala – Bwindi Gorilla Forest
Head off from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park by road. Get a short informative session at the famous Equator and a photographic break, and then move on towards Mbarara for lunch. The journey will let you enjoy Uganda’s lush green forest known as the Switzerland of Uganda, triangular peaks of the Virunga volcanoes of Rwanda and the Congo, animals and a lot of little surprises from Mother Nature. Then your journey will end at the valley of to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, which is the home of the mountain gorillas. Enjoy your overnight stay at the Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas (Full Board).
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi
The day will start early with breakfast and followed by reporting at the ranger station at 8.00 am where you will be briefed about handling the thick forest and behaving inside the thick forest without disturbing the animals. The tracking may take up to 5 hours of trekking in the deep forest searching for these lovely mammals. You get to sit among them to watch them communicate with each other and see how they take care of their young ones with love and care. The best part of the group is the Silver Back- the Dominant Male of the family that you are going to track. It just feels great to be along with them deep inside the rain forest with nothing from the civilized world to hear, it’s just Nature here.
If you like, you may continue your day with a guided walk on the Munyaga River trail which leads to three delightful crystal clear waterfalls, and there is a profusion of tree ferns, epithytic ferns, orchids and Bwindi’s colorful array of butterflies and more of Uganda’s treasure.

Day 3: Bwindi Gorilla Forest – Kampala
After having your breakfast at Bwindi, embark on a return trip to Kampala. Have a stopover at Mbarara for Lunch.
