Rwanda Increases Price Of Gorilla Trekking Permits
The Rwanda Development board created awareness about increase in price of a gorilla trekking permit in Rwanda from USD 750 to USD 1500 in the month of May, 2017. Tourists going in Rwanda not only for gorilla trekking but also visiting other national parks i.e Nyungwe and Akagera for not less than 3 days are entitled to a 30% discount. Conference tourists who stay before or after conference dates to see gorillas are also entitled to a 15% discount.
The major aim for increase in the price of these permits was to enhance growth and development of the communities around Volcanoes national park. Up market lodges are being set up to compliment the high end gorilla trekking experience. This will enhance this awesome experience.
Remember that mountain gorilla trekking is the most sought of activity in East Africa because the region holds more than half of the remaining gorilla population.
